The Uptick Local Membership messaging program

Uptick Local sends messages to people who choose to receive Uptick Local membership texts. The program notifies a member about an issued Uptick, provides relevant local benefit information, and sends necessary membership or service communications.

Program
Uptick Local Membership
Sender
Uptick Local
Purpose
Members who opt in receive Uptick membership messages, including notice of their featured local benefit and necessary membership or service communications.
Frequency
Message frequency varies. A published weekly release may create one featured-benefit notice, and service, transactional or support activity may create additional messages.

These are recurring automated SMS messages where applicable. Message and data rates may apply.

Consent is specific and optional.

SMS consent is a separate choice for the Uptick Local Membership program. It should be clear what messages a member is choosing to receive, and the choice should not be preselected or bundled with acceptance of general terms. Consent to receive messages is not a condition of purchase.

This public page describes the program; it is not a signup form. When a membership flow asks for messaging permission, a member can decline SMS and still use membership and an issued benefit through the private web experience.

Every message Uptick can send you.

There are four, and this is all of them. The wording below is the wording the Uptick application actually sends, shown with placeholder links in place of the private one-time token each real message carries. None of these is a live offer.

  1. Requested access

Transactional · you asked for it

Uptick Local: Your requested secure access link: https://pilot.upticklocal.com/u/[secure-token] Open it to confirm your phone and review your membership choices. Reply STOP to stop texts. HELP for help.

    When it arrives
You enter your own mobile number and ask Uptick for one secure access link.
    What it means for consent
This message fulfills your request. It does not subscribe you to promotional texts.
  2. Weekly Uptick notice

    Promotional · optional, opt-in only

Uptick Local: Your featured Uptick is ready. See this week's free local benefit: https://pilot.upticklocal.com/your-uptick No purchase required. Reply STOP to stop promotional texts. HELP for help.

    When it arrives
A weekly release is published and you have confirmed the optional promotional choice.
    What it means for consent
Sent only to members who opted in and confirmed it on the private access page. Usually one featured message per week.
  3. Opt-in confirmation

Promotional · one per new opt-in

Uptick Local: You're subscribed to recurring automated promotional texts about your weekly Uptick: usually 1 featured message per week. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to stop or HELP for help.

    When it arrives
Immediately after you newly turn the optional promotional choice on and confirm it.
    What it means for consent
One confirmation per new opt-in. A refresh, a replay, saving “on” again, or replying START does not generate it.
  4. Phone-number correction

    Transactional · member-requested

Uptick Local: Confirm the new phone number you asked support to use: https://pilot.upticklocal.com/phone-change/[secure-token] This does not subscribe you to promotional texts. Reply STOP to stop texts. HELP for help.

    When it arrives
You ask support to correct your number and support verifies the request. The link goes only to the proposed new number and expires in 15 minutes.
    What it means for consent
Confirming it proves you control the proposed number. It does not create promotional consent; promotional texts stay off until a fresh opt-in.

Bracketed values are variable content. A real private token is never published here or submitted as a sample.

If your number changes.

Tell support. A member-requested correction is verified through the account process first; then Uptick sends a single short-lived verification link to the proposed new number only. The link expires after 15 minutes and works once.

Confirming it proves you control that number. It does not subscribe you to promotional texts. When the correction is applied, earlier access links and sessions are revoked and promotional messaging is turned off until you choose it again. Benefits already issued to you stay yours.

STOP to stop. HELP to get help.

Reply STOP to a message to stop receiving Uptick Local Membership texts. Reply HELP for help, or contact iwhite@upticklocal.com. Opt-out and help requests apply to this Uptick program; they do not create or transfer consent for any independent merchant program.

  • STOP

    Stops Uptick Local texts.

Does not cancel your membership and does not take away a benefit already issued to you. Your membership stays usable on the web.

  • START

Asks the carrier to remove its messaging block.

Does not enroll you and does not restore promotional consent. Promotional texts resume only after a fresh opt-in you make yourself.

  • HELP

Returns help information and a support path. Contact iwhite@upticklocal.com.

Does not create consent of any kind.

Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies.

Uptick is the sender. A merchant fulfills the benefit.

An approved local location may fulfill an Uptick benefit. That does not make the merchant an automatic SMS sender, and joining Uptick does not automatically enroll a member in the merchant’s independent marketing program.

If merchant-specific marketing is offered later, it requires its own appropriate permission from the member. Uptick Local membership consent is not a pass that can be handed from one business to another. Participating locations do not receive Uptick consent records or member history.
